2 incidents Fall/Rescue Lake District
A casualty fell approximately 40 metres down scree while descending from Dove Crag in the Hartsop Valley. The rescue operation lasted four and a half hours and involved multiple teams and a Coastguard helicopter for extraction to hospital.
Outcome: Transported by air to hospital
Missing Person Search Brecon Beacons
A large-scale search involving police, air support, and mountain rescue was launched after a man was reported missing in the Blorenge area on Wednesday evening. The individual was located near Keeper's Pond in Blaenavon and subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.
Outcome: Person found and hospitalized

Mountain Rescue volunteers attended to a 77-year-old female who was experiencing chest pain while walking on Nicky Nook. The team worked alongside paramedics to provide treatment and safely escort the individual back to the ambulance.
Outcome: Patient treated and transported by ambulance
Stranding/Rescue Peak District
A mountain rescue team was called out after a family of eight became stranded on an unstable path near Dovestones reservoir in Saddleworth. The rescuers assisted the group down the path and helped them safely cross a river by forming a human chain.
Outcome: All members of the family were safely rescued.

Outcome: Patient attended to by ambulance crew and medical professionals.
Aircraft crash Southern Uplands Serious incident
A Turkish military cargo plane crashed on the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan. Search and rescue operations were launched following the incident, and an investigation has been initiated by Georgian authorities.
Outcome: Fatalities reported; investigation underway
Recovery/Fatality Skye Serious incident
A body was found on the west face cliffs of Clach Glas around 2pm on Saturday, 8th November. The recovery of the body took place the following day with assistance from several rescue teams and the Coastguard helicopter.
Outcome: Body recovered
Injury/Slipping Southern Uplands
Mountain rescue teams were called out to assist with an injured walker near Culter Fell on Saturday, 8th November 2025. The individual had slipped and sustained a suspected broken ankle before being assessed and safely carried from the hill.
Outcome: Transported to hospital
October 2025
15 incidents Hypothermia/Rescue Pennines
Mountain Rescue Team was called by Lancashire Police to assist with a distressed male who was unable to exit Warton Quarry. The individual, who had been outdoors overnight, was found to be hypothermic and required medical attention.
Outcome: Medical assistance provided; individual safely removed from the area.
Injury/Fall Southern Uplands
Moffat Mountain Rescue responded to a callout regarding an injured walker on the Southern Upland Way. The individual had fallen and sustained a suspected broken ankle between Wanlockhead and Beattock. Members of both MRT teams successfully located the casualty, provided initial care, and transported them from the hillside to waiting ambulance services.
Outcome: Transported to hospital for further treatment
Search and Recovery Pennines Serious incident
The rescue team was called out to Gisburn Forest on Saturday, 25th October, as part of an ongoing search for a missing person. Sadly, during the operation, the individual was found deceased.
Outcome: Deceased
Missing Person Search South West
Search and Rescue teams were contacted by police to assist in locating a young girl reported missing from St Eval. The child was eventually found safe by a member of the public who was assisting with the search efforts.
Outcome: Found safe
Missing Person Search Pennines
The rescue team responded late on Thursday night to assist with a search for a vulnerable 46-year-old male in the Gisburn Forest area. Seventeen volunteers searched through the night in an immediate area identified by the Police, but unfortunately, the missing person was not found.
Outcome: Person not found
Missing Person Search / Animal Rescue Dartmoor
The team responded to police and coastguard assistance with ongoing searches for a missing person in the Totnes area. During a bankside search, they located a calf stuck in the mud which was successfully extracted with the help of the farmer.
Outcome: Search concluded; animal rescued
Flooding/Rescue Northern Ireland
A walker required assistance after camping in the Mourne Mountains during a yellow weather warning for heavy rain. The team was called out when the individual became unable to cross swollen rivers in the Annalong Valley. Volunteers were able to reach and escort the camper safely off the hill by avoiding river crossings.
Outcome: Rescued safely
Search and Rescue (Missing Person & Lost Walkers) Southern Uplands
Moffat MRT responded to two separate callouts on Sunday, 19th October 2025. The first involved a search for a missing person in the Glentrool area, followed by assistance with the rescue of two walkers who were delayed by injury and worsening weather conditions.
Outcome: All involved were safely located and evacuated.
Injury (Lower Leg) Southern Uplands
Moffat Mountain Rescue Team responded to a callout for an injured young walker on Criffel. The team assessed the casualty and provided pain relief and splinting before safely extracting them from the hillside using a stretcher. The individual was subsequently transferred to the Scottish Ambulance Service for onward care.
Outcome: Transported to hospital
Missing Person Search Skye
Search efforts for a missing walker have continued over the past week whenever weather conditions permitted. The individual was last seen on Thursday, 9th October 2025, and extensive searches have been conducted since that time.
Outcome: Ongoing search efforts
Injury (Arterial Bleeding) Yorkshire Dales
Mountain rescue teams were called out to assist a mountain biker who had sustained a serious arm injury with arterial bleeding in Dalby Forest. The casualty was assessed on arrival and subsequently transported via Bell stretcher to an ambulance for onward air evacuation.
Outcome: Transported to hospital
Hypothermia/Search and Rescue Highlands
A walker was found sheltering behind a boulder while suffering from mild hypothermia during adverse weather conditions. The team successfully airlifted the individual to Stornoway hospital for assessment.
Outcome: Transported to hospital
Fell running accident/Rescue Lake District
A rescue operation was carried out on Great Dodd near Keswick during Storm Amy when winds reached up to 80mph. The call-out involved a fell-runner who had twisted an ankle after setting off from Ambleside. During the five-hour incident, one of the volunteers also sustained a leg injury.
Outcome: Injuries sustained by both the casualty and a volunteer; all were safe.
Medical/Extraction Pennines
A rescue team was requested by Bolton MRT on Saturday, 4th October, to assist with extricating a 79-year-old male from a wood area near Wigan. The team was stood down en route as sufficient agencies were already present at the scene.
Outcome: No further action required (Stood down)
Medical Emergency Pennines
During an exercise near the team's headquarters, a casualty became unwell after vomiting. Following assessment, it was determined that the individual had type 2 Diabetes and had not eaten since lunchtime.
Outcome: Recovered after medical attention at HQ

1 incident Exhaustion/Stranding Highlands
A walker who was suffering from exhaustion after vomiting became stranded on the banks of Loch Lomond while on the West Highland Way. Rescue teams, including boat crews and park rangers, were called out near Inversnaid to assist with the extraction.
Outcome: Rescued and transferred for evacuation
