The remains of Thomas Robb, a farmer who went missing in August 2012 from the Carron Valley area, have been found in woodland near Fintry after 13 years. Mr Robb, aged 74 and living with dementia, had failed to return from a visit to Duncannon Fort. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team attended two callouts on the evening of 16 September. First, they assisted a child from a school group experiencing an asthma attack while wild camping on Place Fell; the child was assessed, treated and escorted back to the outdoor centre. Later that night, six team members assisted three young walkers who had become crag-fast on Striding Edge.

A 76-year-old hillwalker became lost while attempting a strenuous trek across the Scottish Highlands. After being missing for eight days in adverse weather conditions, he was eventually found by local residents and rescue teams.

Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation responded to three separate callouts in the Carneddau and Glyderau mountains between 15–16 September during stormy weather. All three incidents involved walkers who were either unaware of weather warnings or inadequately prepared for the conditions; all casualties were safely assisted off the mountain.

Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue assisted two injured cyclists in separate incidents at Glentress over two weeks in mid-September. Both casualties were treated and evacuated with support from Scottish Ambulance Service. The team also responded to a false alarm SOS call from the Ettrick Valley.

A woman in her 50s suffered a lower leg injury while descending Ben Stack in Sutherland and was unable to continue. She was treated at the scene and stretchered to an all-terrain vehicle provided by the Reay Forest Estate, then transported by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

Two groups of walkers required rescue from Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) on 14 September as gale force winds approached, with one group cragfast on Crib-y-Ddysgl ridge and another in difficulty on Snowdon Ranger Path. Despite yellow weather warnings and forecasts of winds exceeding 60mph, some walkers were inadequately prepared, including those wearing trainers. All parties were safely evacuated by Llanberis and Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Teams.

Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue responded to two separate incidents involving cyclists at Glentress over a period of time. On September 14th, an injured mountain biker was treated and evacuated by the team alongside ambulance staff. A second incident occurred on September 18th, where the team assisted with the extraction of another injured cyclist.

Mountain Rescue Team attended an incident on Grindleton Fell following a call from North West Ambulance Service regarding a male experiencing chest pain. Due to inaccessibility for ambulance staff, the team assessed the situation and safely extracted the individual using a Mountain Rescue Bell stretcher before handing him over to waiting paramedics.

A search was initiated for a 23-year-old man from Cambridgeshire who went missing after travelling to Puzzlewood in Gloucestershire on 11 September. Emergency services and Severn Area Rescue Association located a body at the site on 12 September. The circumstances of death were not being treated as suspicious.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called to Great Mell Fell on 11 September after a walker slipped on steep, wet ground whilst descending. Although uninjured, the casualty had reduced mobility and was unable to continue safely, so the team provided shelter and evacuated them by stretcher.

A man suffered a significant lower leg injury after falling on Zaines Ladder at Devil's Pulpit near Killearn on Tuesday morning. Lomond Mountain Rescue Team attended and treated him at the scene before he was transferred by stretcher to Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Outcome: A mountain rescue team attended to a group of people who had climbed The Cobbler. One individual sustained a dislocated knee near the summit, and the team provided assistance.
Mountain Rescue Team members responded to assist with a dog walker who had fallen into the River Lune on Thursday afternoon. The individual sustained a head injury and required assistance being moved from the riverbank to an ambulance parked on the road.

Volunteers from Glenelg were called out to assist with the recovery of a cow that became stuck in a peatbog near Glenelg. After an hour and a half of effort involving digging and careful pulling, the animal was successfully brought to safety.

Mountain Rescue volunteers were called out to assist with a cow that had become trapped in mud within a ditch. The team successfully used equipment and a harness to safely remove the animal.

A woman in her 50s fell and broke her ankle in three places while descending Ben Stack in September. She was rescued by a dozen members of Assynt Mountain Rescue Team, who carried out a rapid evacuation from the western slopes at approximately 1300 feet. Her husband is now fundraising £5000 for the team to purchase equipment and training.

A solo hillwalker sustained an ankle injury in the Mullardoch hills and was unable to continue walking. Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team located the walker and assisted them to the roadside at Mullardoch dam.

Torridon Mountain Rescue Team responded to two simultaneous emergencies on Saturday: a hypothermic hiker lost near the summit of Beinn Liath Mòr was winched to safety by Inverness Coastguard helicopter and airlifted to Raigmore Hospital, whilst a second group of walkers who lost the path descending Beinn Eighe were safely guided down by team members.

A rescue team was called out on Friday, 29th August 2025, to assist an 84-year-old male mountain biker who had fallen. The casualty was treated at the scene and subsequently transported by stretcher to a nearby car park for handover.

A vehicle left the road and went down an 80-foot embankment in Martindale in the Lake District. Mountain rescue assisted emergency services in extracting casualties from the crash. One casualty was airlifted to hospital by air ambulance.
