A hiker suffered a heart attack while descending Grisedale Pike on Saturday afternoon, 31 May. Mountain rescue teams from Cockermouth, Keswick, and RAF Leeming responded, with air ambulance attempts prevented by adverse weather. The casualty was stretcher-evacuated and handed over to NHS ambulance care.
