Ben Nevis
A climber was found in severe hypothermic distress on Ben Nevis during a blizzard with temperatures of -20°C and gale-force winds on 24 January. Scottish Royal Marine Reserves and Dutch Korps Mariniers personnel discovered the man curled up in the snow with ice on his face and evacuated him by makeshift stretcher. The casualty was later able to walk independently and was handed over to emergency services.
