walker unable to continue safely on steep ground Lake District

Mellbreak, Crummock Water lakeshore path

A walker strayed from the Crummock lakeshore path onto steep loose ground on Mellbreak and felt unable to continue safely. Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team located the casualty using 999 call coordinates and assisted them back to the lakeshore path with encouragement, support and a confidence rope. The rescue involved eight team members and took approximately three hours.

Outcome: casualty assisted back to lakeshore path and returned safely to team vehicles
