Birchin Clough, Dovestone
A walker sustained an ankle injury in Birchin Clough near Dovestone on Saturday afternoon. Oldham Mountain Rescue Team responded and, due to difficult terrain and fading light, called in a Coastguard helicopter to assist with extraction. The casualty was immobilised, carried to a suitable point, and transferred by helicopter to waiting road ambulance care.
Outcome: casualty evacuated by helicopter to road ambulance for onward care
