Beinn Dearg, Penguin Gully, near Ullapool, Wester Ross
Two climbers died after being struck by an avalanche on Beinn Dearg near Ullapool in the Scottish Highlands. Mountain rescue teams from Dundonnell and RAF units conducted a search in severe conditions, locating the bodies at the foot of Penguin Gully on Sunday morning.
