Two 16-year-old girls from an outdoor education centre group were rescued from Cader Idris on 23 August 2018 after one lost consciousness following a fall on loose ground and the other developed hypothermia symptoms. Both were winched to safety by coastguard helicopter and flown to Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth.

Outcome: both casualties winched to safety by helicopter and flown to hospital
