canyoning fall Brecon Beacons
Neath Valley, between Pont Nedd Vaughan and Ystradfellte waterfalls
A 22-year-old man was injured during a canyoning fall near the top of the Neath Valley and was airlifted to hospital by RAF helicopter. The casualty sustained injuries to his back and hip whilst descending with a group of twelve people. He was winched 230 feet into the helicopter and flown to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.
Outcome: airlifted to hospital by helicopter with back and hip injuries
