Loch Lomond, Rob Roy's Cave and West Highland Way

Two separate incidents occurred on Loch Lomond on 11 August 2025: an 87-year-old man fell 40 feet from a cliff near Rob Roy's Cave and lay injured for approximately three hours before passing fishermen heard his calls for help and alerted emergency services; separately, a 19-year-old German walker sustained an ankle injury on the West Highland Way. Both casualties were rescued by Loch Lomond Rescue Boat and transferred to hospital by ambulance and air ambulance respectively.
