Search efforts for a missing walker have continued over the past week whenever weather conditions permitted. The individual was last seen on Thursday, 9th October 2025, and extensive searches have been conducted since that time.

The team experienced a busy weekend with multiple call-outs. One notable rescue involved an eight-hour effort on Sgùrr Mhic Choinnich after a party of three became cragfast due to adverse weather conditions.

A rescue team was called out by police Scotland to a male in his 70s who had suffered a medical incident on Sgurr nan Gillean. Despite efforts from the rescue team and companions, resuscitation was unsuccessful. The body was recovered to an accessible position for helicopter retrieval.

Over a period of six days, the team responded to seven call-outs in challenging weather conditions across Skye. Searches were conducted in areas including the Red Hills and Northern Cuillin, culminating in the recovery of a body from a high ledge near Harta and Lota Corries.
Outcome: One fatality confirmed; multiple rescues/searches conducted.
A climber sustained multiple injuries after falling approximately 15 metres on the north-west ridge of Sgùrr nan Eag. Following initial difficulties due to low cloud, team members reached the casualty on foot before lowering them to safer ground. The individual was eventually airlifted from Coire Ghrunnda to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

The team responded to several incidents over the week, including assisting with suspected broken ankles at Storr and another location near Sligachan. They also located a solo walker who was safe and well, and attended to a cragfast individual on Bruach na Frithe.
Outcome: Casualties treated and safely assisted off the mountain.
The team responded to two callouts near the Fairy Pools over recent days. One incident involved a female with an ankle injury on the Bruach na Frithe traverse path, requiring stretcher removal to the roadside. The second callout assisted helicopter crews dealing with a casualty who had fallen into the water at the pools.
Outcome: Casualty treated and removed from the area.
Over the last few days, the team responded to several callouts. One incident involved a trials rider being airlifted from the Trotternish Ridge after sustaining a fractured lower leg. Another rescue occurred when a runner fell near Sgurr nan Gillean; they were assisted down to Allt Dearg Beag before walking out to Sligachan.
Outcome: All individuals were safely evacuated or received necessary medical attention.
Mountain rescue teams were called out after reports that an individual had seriously injured themselves while sledging near the Old Man of Storr. The attending team was able to administer pain relief and immobilise the casualty before they were airlifted to a hospital in Glasgow.
