A fell runner sustained a significant shin injury with heavy bleeding during an organised race on the Napes at Great Gable. Wasdale MRT and Coastguard Rescue 897 responded; a winch paramedic treated the casualty, who was then able to walk down and was transported to Wasdale Head for handover to race organisers.
Outcome: casualty treated and walked down, handed over to race organisers
