Upper Esk, Scafell Pike
Five 17-year-olds were reported to have a leg injury and were located in the Upper Esk after spending the night out in wet and cold conditions. A Coastguard helicopter airlifted all five casualties from the scene, and upon examination no leg injury was identified; all appeared to be in good health despite overnight exposure.
Outcome: all five airlifted by Coastguard helicopter, checked over, no injury found, handed to police
