Helvellyn
A 62-year-old walker from the South of England died on Helvellyn after becoming missing on 8 January 2015. He was found on the mountain's headwall on 10 January, having apparently lain there for approximately four days, and was pronounced dead at the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team base. A large-scale search involving 62 mountain rescuers, multiple teams, search dogs, and a Royal Navy helicopter was coordinated across two days.
Outcome: body recovered and pronounced dead
