A 72-year-old experienced hillwalker became stranded on a remote cliff ledge above the waterline in the Kinloch Hourn area of the western Highlands for over 24 hours starting Sunday afternoon. Due to poor mobile reception, he was unable to call for help until Monday lunchtime. He was successfully rescued by Kyle of Lochalsh RNLI and Glenelg Mountain Rescue Team at 7pm on Monday and reunited with his family.

Outcome: rescued by lifeboat and mountain rescue team, reunited with family
