A 23-year-old climber became trapped on an icy ledge on Tryfan in Snowdonia in sub-zero conditions with vertical drops surrounding him. Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation, police, and a Coastguard helicopter responded, and he was rescued to safety before darkness fell. The rescue is featured in a new BBC documentary series about North Wales mountain rescue operations.
