Pen y Fan, Corn Du

Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team responded to two ankle injury callouts on Pen y Fan over the weekend of 8–9 March in contrasting weather conditions. On Friday evening, a male walker with an ankle injury was assisted on the summit in wet and windy weather. On Sunday morning, a gentleman with a broken ankle was located on Corn Du, assessed by casualty carers, splinted, and evacuated by stretcher; he was later found to have sustained a three-part fracture.

Outcome: both casualties evacuated by stretcher; Sunday's casualty attended A&E/MIU for three-part ankle fracture

Support the team who responded. They turn out unpaid, in all weather — every team is a volunteer-run charity.
