A casualty broke their ankle near Pillar on 7 May and was airlifted to hospital by HM Coastguard Helicopter. The call was initially received by Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team but transferred to Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team after establishing the casualty was on their side of the boundary. The casualty was treated on scene and transported to Cumberland Infirmary.
