Pillar Rock, Lake District
Two climbers were rescued from Pillar Rock after becoming stranded at Low Man due to fading light and worsening weather on 28 October 2025. Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team deployed 15 members who established a fixed line to assist the climbers safely down the mountain. The operation lasted five-and-a-half hours.
Outcome: both climbers assisted down and escorted to vehicles
