Small Water, Mardale Head

Heat exhaustion/stroke Lake District

A female walker was reported suffering from signs of heat exhaustion near Small Water on Mardale Head. The rescue team advised the casualty's party to keep her cool and remained on scene until support arrived. The casualty was subsequently transferred via coastguard helicopter to an ambulance at Mardale Head.

Outcome: Medical assistance provided; casualty transferred to ambulance.

Penton/Kershope Forest

Search and Rescue Lake District

Mountain rescue teams were called out to assist with a multi-day search for a missing person near Penton/Kershope Forest. After extensive searching involving numerous agencies and resources over several days, the individual was eventually located by a police dog on Tuesday afternoon.

Outcome: Missing person found alive

Coombs Wood, Armathwaite

Climbing Accident/Rescue Lake District

A climber was found by a passer-by after falling on the crags at Coombs Wood and sustaining severe injuries. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including air ambulance support, to assess the casualty and safely extract them from the crag.

Outcome: Transported to hospital

Ashgill Force, Garrigill

Slip/Injury Lake District

The team was called out to assist a walker who had slipped on a steep muddy path at Ashgill Force. Following an assessment and splinting of the ankle, the casualty was safely carried by the team to an awaiting ambulance for hospital transport.

Outcome: Transported to hospital
