Two individuals were rescued from an abandoned mine in Cornwall after being trapped inside for up to 14 hours. Rescue teams successfully stabilized the people and brought them to the surface before they were transported to hospital for further examination.

A man became trapped approximately 45 feet down a shaft at Phoenix Mine in Minions, Cornwall, after becoming stuck on ropes whilst exploring with a group. Devon Cave Rescue Organisation and East Cornwall Search and Rescue responded, and he was rescued and conveyed to hospital after being suspended in the shaft for several hours and sustaining injuries.

A woman was injured after falling near Galashiels on Gala Hill on 7 January. Eight members of Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team assisted emergency services in getting her into an ambulance approximately one hour after the callout. She was taken to hospital for treatment.

The Oban Mountain Rescue Team was called out following multiple floods and landslides in the area, where they reported that everyone involved in an incident south of Ardfern were safe. Additionally, ten motorists were rescued by helicopter near Inveraray after becoming trapped between landslides.

After efforts to establish communication, the individual regained consciousness and allowed teams to pinpoint his location via mobile phone.
