injured hiker with suspected fracture Snowdonia

Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Miners' Track

A hiker slipped and sustained a suspected lower leg fracture on the Miners' Track on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) on Good Friday 19 April. Mountain rescue teams from Llanberis and Aberglaslyn attended, splinted the casualty's leg, and carried them down by stretcher to waiting vehicles. A second callout for an injured walker on the Watkin Path was also reported, though that casualty was assisted down by friends.

Outcome: casualty evacuated by stretcher to base; second casualty walked off with assistance from friends

Support the team who responded. They turn out unpaid, in all weather — every team is a volunteer-run charity.
