A woman in her 50s became trapped when her leg became stuck in a crack on Gribin Facet after slipping while walking. Around 16 volunteers from Llanberis and Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue team used washing-up liquid and ropes to free her leg, and she was subsequently airlifted to hospital for assessment.

Three separate groups of walkers were rescued from the Brecon Beacons after becoming lost in poor visibility on Saturday. A hillwalker from the Glasgow area became lost in the hills near Glen Strathfarrar after a navigational error on Friday and spent a night in the open. A woman was blown off her feet on Snowdon during Storm Brian on Saturday afternoon and suffered a suspected broken ankle and finger injury. Sixteen Llanberis Mountain Rescue volunteers took four hours to reach her and evacuate her by stretcher down the mountain in extreme weather conditions with wind speeds of 112 mph. She was transferred to hospital for treatment.

A 43-year-old member of Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team died in an accident on Crib Goch, Snowdonia, whilst participating in a team training event on Saturday morning. Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team responded to the incident and North Wales Police is investigating.

A therapy dog named Alfie was part of a hillwalking group on Ben Nevis when one member of the party became exhausted. Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team assisted the group off the mountain, with team member Terry Confield carrying Alfie.

A 19-year-old man climbed Snowdon wearing only Superman underwear as a charity fundraiser on 9 September 2017. He developed hypothermia at the summit and was evaluated by a paramedic at the base but did not require hospital treatment. Mountain rescue issued a plea for visitors to wear appropriate clothing and prepare properly for the mountain.

A 64-year-old walker sustained a leg injury in a fall on Goat Fell, Isle of Arran at approximately 13:00 on Wednesday. Arran Mountain Rescue Team attended and carried her to safety on a stretcher, after which she was airlifted to hospital by coastguard helicopter.

Paul Robinson suffered life-threatening injuries including a broken neck in three places, spinal fracture, and tension pneumothorax after falling on Striding Edge in the Lake District. He was rescued by Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, treated in hospital, and later underwent rehabilitation. He has since recovered and is fundraising for the rescue team that assisted in his survival.

Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue responded to two separate incidents on Tryfan on 21 August 2017. Three brothers became cragfast on the West Face after abandoning the North Ridge in poor visibility, and were assisted down using rope hand lines. Later the same evening, a group of five became cragfast on the North Ridge and were walked off the mountain; both groups were provided with refreshments at base before departing.

A 56-year-old man fell 10 feet on Hay Stacks above Buttermere on Sunday, injuring his shoulder. Passing walkers raised the alarm and assisted the casualty. He was treated by Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team and a Coastguard helicopter and winched to Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for further treatment.

A nineteen-member Mourne Mountain Rescue Team responded to a police alert for a high-risk missing person in the Mournes on Thursday night. The operation lasted approximately two hours, after which the person was located and transferred to hospital for assessment.

Emergency services including lifeboats and a helicopter were deployed to the River Severn near Arlingham and Frampton-on-Severn in search of a missing person. Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) land search teams and a lifeboat from SARA Sharpness were called to assist police coastguard in the search operation.
Two swimmers became trapped for three hours in a gorge at Finnich Glen near Killearn while canyoning through the Carnock Burn. They were unable to climb out of the 80-foot gorge and were rescued by Lomond Mountain Rescue Team with assistance from police and Scottish Fire and Rescue. The woman was suffering from mild hypothermia but both casualties were checked by paramedics and released.

A group of approximately 70 Army cadets from England, including 58 children aged 12 to 17, encountered treacherous weather on the Mourne Mountains in County Down. An emergency operation was launched involving coastguard, ambulance, helicopter and mountain rescue teams; 17 children were stretchered off the mountain with 16 cases of hypothermia and minor injuries including ankle injuries and cold-related conditions reported.

A man fell approximately 230 feet from the PYG path on Snowdon and died as a result of his injuries. Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team attended the incident and recovered the body from the cliff face, with the operation taking four hours and 38 minutes.

A male walker, thought to be in his 20s or 30s, fell approximately 30 metres to his death on Tryfan while attempting to descend a gully on Heather Terrace. He was discovered by a woman and her three teenage sons at around 16:00 BST. Mountain rescue believe he slipped while trying to find a route around rock steps that make the gully impassable.

A 73-strong group of Army cadets encountered difficulties during a training exercise in the Mourne Mountains in treacherous weather. Three climbers became cragfast on the Orion Face of Ben Nevis during poor weather conditions. Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team successfully rescued them by lowering a rescuer from the summit, finding the group 200m below the top of the route and leading them back to safety.
