A group of three walkers became stuck on the Wastwater Screes and contacted Cumbria Police. The MRT Team Leader provided reassurance and guidance while monitoring their progress via PhoneFind, and the group safely cleared the difficult section without further assistance required.

A female walker fell and injured her ankle on Great Gable, leaving her unable to continue with her group of 15. Rescue 897 helicopter attended, assessed the casualty, and airlifted her to Wasdale Head Inn for transfer to a land ambulance and onward care.

A 67-year-old female walker collapsed on Long Lane near Clapham. The team attended with off-road vehicles, conducted initial assessment, and transported her to the depot where an ambulance was waiting for further assessment.

The rescue team assisted 20 people across multiple separate incidents on the Skye Trail on 7 August 2026 during poor weather conditions. The team used the callouts to highlight concerns about how the route is understood and promoted, noting that people may underestimate the terrain's seriousness and become over-reliant on electronic navigation without adequate map and compass skills.

A cold male was encountered by walkers near the summit of Scafell Pike on 6 August 2026. Mountain rescue assisted the casualty and his companions during descent, providing monitoring and support to ensure he remained warm and stable.

Five 17-year-olds were reported to have a leg injury and were located in the Upper Esk after spending the night out in wet and cold conditions. A Coastguard helicopter airlifted all five casualties from the scene, and upon examination no leg injury was identified; all appeared to be in good health despite overnight exposure.

On 6 August, the team was called by North Wales Police to assist a walker with a leg injury on the hills above Llangollen. Following assessment and pain relief, the casualty was evacuated by stretcher to an ambulance for hospital transport.

A walker with a leg injury was rescued from a remote area near Grwyne Fawr Reservoir in the Black Mountains after an Apple SOS distress signal alerted emergency services. Longtown Mountain Rescue Team members assessed and treated the casualty before evacuating them using technical rope rescue techniques due to challenging terrain. The person was transferred to an ambulance for further treatment.

The team was called to assist South West Ambulance at Sheepstor where three campers required extraction. Two of the group were unwell and cold and unable to walk off; all three were evacuated by stretcher and handed over to ambulance crews.

A woman slipped on wet slate at Cathedral Quarry and sustained a knee injury. Team members assessed her, provided pain relief, splinted the leg, and transported her to her family's vehicle for self-presentation at hospital.

A walker sustained an ankle injury after slipping on the Offa's Dyke Path near Llantysilio on 5 August. The team provided pain relief and splinted the ankle before evacuating the casualty by stretcher to a rendezvous point.

A 60-year-old woman suffered a medical episode while caving in Ireby Fell cavern. With support from her party, she ascended to the surface and was assessed by a team doctor before being stretched off the fell and transported to hospital by ambulance.

Moffat Mountain Rescue responded to three separate incidents within a week in early August. These included a search for a high-risk missing person near Mouswald who was located safe, a paraglider crash on Criffel where the casualty was uninjured, and a search for missing walkers near Wanlockhead who were safely extracted with helicopter and ground team support.

The team was called to assist North Wales Police in searching for a missing walker in the hills above Glyn Ceiriog on the evening of 4th August. Before the team deployed, the walker made contact with family and was located safe and well, and the callout was stood down.

Kinder Mountain Rescue Team responded to four separate incidents on 4 August within three hours across their operational area. The incidents involved a child with leg and facial injuries on the edge path north of Sandy Heys, a female with a knee injury near Alderley Edge, a male with a head injury near White Nancy, and a male with an ankle injury near Kinder Low. All casualties were treated and either walked off or were stretchered to safety, with support from Cheshire Search and Rescue and Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.

A high-risk missing male was reported lost and cold near Down Tor on Dartmoor. The team deployed five search parties from Norsworthy Bridge and located him unharmed on the Deancombe track within three hours, returning him safely to the rendezvous point.

A young orienteer suffered an ankle injury on Bessyboot during an event in Borrowdale. Penrith MRT was called to assist with evacuation, but Rescue 897 airlifted the casualty before the team arrived. Team members diverted to receive and transport the casualty to Keswick base.

Two overdue paddleboarders were reported missing on Derwent Water. Penrith MRT assisted Keswick MRT with search planning and shoreline searches, but the two individuals were found safe by Cumbria Police walking along a nearby road.

A male fellrunner attempting the Joss Naylor route in reverse was reported overdue with tracker contact lost. A team member with a drone attended Kirkstone Pass and located the runner on the skyline; he was uninjured but had become slightly off-route during darkness. The runner returned home without requiring evacuation.

A walker slipped from rocks at Blackstone Edge on the Pennine Way and sustained a painful ankle injury. Combined teams from Oldham Mountain Rescue and Calder Valley Search and Rescue carried the casualty by stretcher approximately one kilometre to a waiting Land Rover and transferred them to ambulance care.
