Buttermere, Ruddy Beck
A walker with a broken ankle and mild hypothermia was rescued from rough terrain near Ruddy Beck on Buttermere fellside on 12 September. Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team, with 15 members, located the casualty and a Maritime and Coastguard Agency helicopter winched them from the technically challenging location. The casualty was airlifted to Cumberland Infirmary for treatment.
Outcome: airlifted to hospital by helicopter
