Buttermere

A man fell two to three metres from an exposed and steep section of the Buttermere lakeshore path on Monday, 29 September, sustaining significant and painful injuries. Keswick and Cockermouth mountain rescue teams attended and provided medical care before packaging him onto a stretcher and hauling him back to the path. The casualty was evacuated to an awaiting ambulance after a rescue lasting two hours and 34 minutes.
