A man suffered a leg injury after falling in Birchen Clough at Dovestones on 13 January 2025. He was located above a waterfall and winched to safety by Maritime and Coastguard Agency helicopter with assistance from Oldham and Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Teams. He was transferred to ambulance care at a landing area.
