Lochaber Mountain Rescue responded to five separate rescue callouts in a single day. The incidents required the team's coordinated response across multiple locations in the area.

A member of the public was reported as lost on moorland above Farndale. Following location confirmation despite limited mobile coverage, team members were dispatched to escort her off the moor and return her safely to her vehicle.

Outcome: Safe recovery

The team responded to an injured walker on Ben A'an following previous callouts. The casualty was successfully evacuated with assistance from the Scottish Ambulance Air Ambulance.

Outcome: Evacuated

Volunteers responded to three challenging calls over a 12-hour period. Incidents included the evacuation of an injured person near Callander, a rescue on Ben A’nn for a minor with an injury, and guiding a lost group back to safety on Ben Lui.

Outcome: All individuals were safely evacuated or located.

Assynt Mountain Rescue Team responded to two separate incidents within 24 hours. The first involved two lost walkers near Eas a' Chual Aluinn waterfall who were located with help from mobile phone tracking and escorted back to their car. The second saw the full team search for a missing walker in the Achfary area who was found safe in a local bothy.

Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team and Scottish Ambulance Service SORT attended a medical incident on the Pentland Hills near Hillend Ski Centre on 28 July 2024. The casualty was packaged and evacuated to an ambulance. The team were supported by colleagues from Ochils MRT.

Outcome: casualty evacuated to ambulance

A walker sustained a badly injured leg and required rescue team assistance. The incident was covered by local press reporting on the rescue response.

A mountain rescue team responded to assist an injured cyclist. The incident involved a biker requiring emergency assistance in the area.

Outcome: Patient evacuated to ambulance

A team was called out by Police Scotland Forth Valley on Ben Lui to locate a party of five, one member of whom had sustained a muscle problem and was unable to move. Following an assessment, the casualty was airlifted to an RV point for recovery at home.

Outcome: Evacuated by air; casualty recovered at home

A caver became stuck in a tight crack in a cave near Applecross in Wester Ross and was unable to move. Members of the Scottish Cave Rescue Organisation and local cavers worked together for five hours to carefully manipulate him out of the squeeze, with Torridon Mountain Rescue Team providing surface support. He was brought to the surface unharmed but cold and tired.

Outcome: casualty rescued unharmed

Two walkers became disoriented in hazardous terrain on Slioch near Kinlochewe after triggering an alert. Following a search involving 17 team members and two dogs, contact was made later that evening, allowing the walkers to safely descend with guidance.

Outcome: Walkers were uninjured and able to walk out safely.

A motorcyclist came off their bike on the A58 near Littleborough and fell down an embankment. Oldham Mountain Rescue Team and Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team assisted North West Ambulance Service in securing the casualty to a stretcher and carrying them up the steep slope to the ambulance.

Outcome: casualty secured to stretcher and carried to ambulance

A walker in a group near the summit of Tryfan became paralysed with fear on 18 July. Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue attended to provide reassurance and calm the person before helping the group back down the mountain.

Outcome: casualty reassured and escorted down mountain

Assynt Mountain Rescue Team attended a walker who sustained a suspected lower leg fracture after a fall on a remote coastal path near Ardmore, Laxford Bridge. The casualty was assisted by staff at Ridgway Adventure and local residents before being evacuated by HM Coastguard helicopter and transported to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
