A mountain rescue search was launched after an abandoned trolley bag containing outdoor equipment was found on the Pennine Way near the Cheviot Hills. Initial concerns about a missing person were alleviated when social media and local reports helped locate the walker who had safely ditched the broken trolley.

A 36-year-old man died after falling from Crib Goch on the approach to Yr Wyddfa in Eryri on Saturday 16 August. Emergency services, including Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team and North Wales Police, attended the scene. The man was recovered by helicopter but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three walkers were injured at separate waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons area of Wales on Saturday. One woman sustained a fractured leg at Henrhyd Falls, another injured her leg at Sgwd Ddwli, and a man suffered a suspected fractured femur at Sgwd Gwladys. A 61-year-old comedian was found dead in the Five Sisters of Kintail in the Scottish Highlands after failing to return from a hillwalk. Two separate incidents occurred on Loch Lomond on 11 August 2025: an 87-year-old man fell 40 feet from a cliff near Rob Roy's Cave and lay injured for approximately three hours before passing fishermen heard his calls for help and alerted emergency services; separately, a 19-year-old German walker sustained an ankle injury on the West Highland Way. Both casualties were rescued by Loch Lomond Rescue Boat and transferred to hospital by ambulance and air ambulance respectively.

Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation responded to nine incidents across north west Wales between 10 and 15 August 2025. Moffat Mountain Rescue was called out to assist with a rescue near Loch Skene following a fall sustained by a young walker. The casualty had suffered a suspected broken ankle and required assistance due to poor mobile phone signal in the area.

A man became stranded in a gorge at Devil's Pulpit near Killearn, Stirling on Saturday afternoon. A group of campers required rescue from the Mourne Mountains late on 6 August after becoming caught out by rapidly deteriorating weather conditions. They were located by Mourne Mountain Rescue Team in the Bloody Bridge valley showing signs of exposure, and were safely evacuated and rewarmed. The team emphasised the importance of proper equipment and preparation for mountain conditions.

A paraglider suffered serious injuries after crashing into a hillside above Strathcarron in the Highlands on Sunday. Torridon Mountain Rescue Team, who were conducting a training session nearby, were airlifted to the scene by Coastguard helicopter and provided initial care alongside ambulance paramedics. The casualty was transferred by air ambulance to hospital for further treatment.

A two-year-old Vizsla dog fell from the top of the gorge at Devil's Pulpit near Glasgow and landed in the water below. Lomond Mountain Rescue Team and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service's swift water rescue team responded and successfully rescued the dog, named Otta, uninjured and returned him to his owners.

A multi-agency response was launched on 23 July after reports of a vessel sinking on Ullswater. Upon arrival, the vessel was found to be fully submerged with no persons reported onboard.
